Homestory Part Three

Now that autumn is taking its leave and winter is just around the corner, body and soul are longing – noticeably more than they did in summer – for the security of our own four walls. For all the small and big things that make us feel comfortable: For example, a warm cup of peppermint tea, the cosy cuddly socks, an exciting book and our beloved family games evening. 

At home, we are also turning more and more to the soul warmers in culinary terms. Hot soups in many variations are a natural part of the menu after a long working day. Because when it's cold and uncomfortable outside – as it is now – finely seasoned pumpkin, pea, mushroom or carrot and potato cream soups warm us up wonderfully from the inside and simply make us happy. And as much as they satiate us – in the evening on the sofa there's still a little room in our bellies for one or two pieces of chocolate. Or chunky cookies. Or other sweets within reach. In the dim candlelight and the flickering of the TV screen, it is all too delightful to ring in the end of the day. And since the dark of night seems to end the day even faster at this time of year, we feel like watching gloomy films and series that make us sink even deeper into the couch.

Small ice stars usually herald the first, shallow snowfall at night and with it comes the anticipation of Christmas to spend time with our loved ones. A festive decoration, homemade treats and lovingly hugs – what more does it take to feel comfortable at home now?
