riad dar darma
Behind the black wooden door, which looks rather inconspicuous towards the street, an undreamt-of world opens up: Heated by the summer sun, we enter a narrow corridor whose smooth high walls radiate immediate coolness.
We follow the pleasant freshness and our host Hicham down some stairs and then up again up to the roof terrace. There, Maria is already waiting and also welcomes us with juicy coconut cake and sugar-sweet black tea. We take our time. Time to enjoy the delicacies and for the first time to listen to the all-pervading calls of prayer from the mosques. Afterwards Maria leads us down some steps to show us the rooms of the Riad and to tell us more about its origins.
Here, each room has a different name, reflecting the style, attention to detail and world interest of the owners. And so one room seems more fascinating and exciting than the previous one. At the end of this journey of discovery, the Suite Maron awaits us. Ceiling-high windows overlooking the green courtyard and exquisite furniture in soft earthy tones envelop us in an oriental dream and shield us from the hurly-burly of the street.
